JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: PARTNERSHIPS DIRECTOR

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: COMMUNICATIONS & PROGRAM COORDINATOR

We’re looking for two people who believe in our mission, can help PWA serve diverse communities effectively, and understands what it takes to build sustainable community partnerships.  The application period opens today and closes when the positions are filled.

PWA started in 2005 and has grown into a thriving nonprofit with an active board of directors and a cohesive staff. We work with Portland-area high schools to connect students with employers in every major employment sector, including health care, technology, design, construction, energy and manufacturing.

We are expanding our four-person staff to 5+ people, plus an event coordinator, in 2021-22.

MORE ABOUT PWA

PWA is a coalition of business, labor, high schools and postsecondary institutions. We believe in big dreams and good careers for all high school students. Our board, staff and volunteers see meaningful access to career development as a matter of social and economic justice.

In a typical year, we serve about 10,000 students through career-learning experiences such as career days, mentorships and the annual NW Youth Careers Expo. We welcome all students, with extra outreach to higher-poverty and marginalized communities.  Our goal is for students to develop career aspirations and make informed, inspired choices about their education after high school. This work is part of a strategy to boost Oregon’s graduation rate and help regional employers build their pipeline of talent.
