Hey students! Join us July 17-20, 2023, to invest in yourself, meet inspiring women, and learn how to move from your first job toward your dream job. This is a PAID summer career empowerment opportunity.
Who can apply: Students entering grades 10-12 in fall 2023 and attending any Portland-metro high school. (Priority given to PWA partner districts; all welcome as space permits.) Given the impact of the pandemic on women in the workforce, these sessions are tailored for students who identify as female or non-binary.

Location: Parkrose High School in NE Portland.
When: Monday, July 17, 2023 through Thursday, July 20, 2023
Time: Mornings. (About 9 am until 12:30 pm. Exact schedule available in June.)
Stipend and food: Students who attend the full program will receive a $200 stipend. Complimentary morning snacks and lunch.
More program details: Whether you have a job or are looking for one, this paid career experience can help you build skills, confidence and networks for your next job and your future career. During this four-day academy aimed at students entering grades 10-12, you will:
- connect with women in inspiring careers and hear their tips
- map your strengths and learn advanced job search skills
- create standout resumes
- get budgeting tips to make the most of your paychecks
- practice job interviews with confidence
- connect with other students who have goals and dreams for the future, just like yourself
Deadline: Apply by May 31, 2023, for priority consideration.
How to apply: Apply here. We will start to review applications in late May. We will send the first round of acceptances immediately after May 31, 2023, and then fill any remaining spots and create our waitlist in early June. We plan to accept about 20 students total.
