Students are resilient, as new PWA Board President Marcus Carter points out. That resilience is inspiring, as our board and staff work with the community to find new ways to connect, engage and serve in the COVID-19 era.
There is no substitute for real-world human connections. However, we are seeing some exciting opportunities to serve students in new ways, through online resources such as Expo2Go, and virtual engagement with industry professionals.
This Spring, students have gone behind the scenes at Instrument, Daimler, AWS Elemental, Kaiser Permanente, and many other leading employers. They’ve gotten advice about future plans from UP nursing students, designed their own pair of Stans, learned how to code, built their own trucks, and revived patients in a simulated code blue.
