Through our contacts at TechTown and ChickTech Portland, Portland Workforce Alliance has received a limited number of tickets for high school girls to attend the ACT-W (Advancing the Careers of Technical Women) Portland Conference at Portland State University on July 20-21. Students interested in receiving a ticket should contact PWA at sherri@portlandworkforcealliance.org by July 9.

This conference is an action-packed event where women in the workforce and young women in college and high school can build skills, grow their networks, and accelerate their career paths.

Are you a high school girl, non-binary student, or trans student that is interested in learning more about technology in a supportive environment? If so, consider attending as a High School VIP!

As a high schooler, you will join 500+ individuals for speaking sessions, hands-on workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, a career fair, and much more.

Although High School VIPs are invited to attend the whole conference, they are required to attend the High School VIP Lunch on Saturday, July 21st from noon-1:30 pm in the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom. High School VIPs will be assigned to tables with employees from local  companies to receive group mentoring. As a VIP, you will have the opportunity to eat a delicious lunch, meet other high school students, and chat with tech employees who want to answer your questions and share their story.
