PWA welcomed Nina to the Board of directors in June 2024.
Nina Lasswell (she/her) works at Nuuly as a Senior Manager in Marketing Analytics. In her current role, I support our Marketing, Consumer, and Digital teams, as an integral leader to measure campaign effectiveness, consumer behavior, and drive insights to action for brand moments across all channels. She is passionate about using her technical skills and public speaking ability to translate data into action for business teams.
What is some of your best career advice?
Stay curious in life and don’t be afraid to fail. Rebrand failure as practice and with practice you make progress.
What was your most memorable job as a teenager?
I worked at the Nike Retail store as a store athlete! I absolutely loved the opportunity to sell shoes, and get to connect with consumers. Funny how that role as a teenager has opened up my professional career at Nike WHQ.. crazy how doors open and high-school jobs can really form you! I credit all of my success and passion for the brand to my retail experience.
What is something you learned in high school about work?
Follow the areas you enjoy, regardless if you think its “cool” or not! I always loved math classes in high-school (even was president of the math club, ha talk about nerd ) but didn’t know where that where that was lead and was always a little embarrassed. Fast forward 9 years and that has unlocked a world I had no idea existed. Following your passions, regardless if you know it or not, tends to work out for the better!
What draws you to serve PWA?
I am extremely passionate about getting more women into STEM fields and that starts with education, and also believe in being an active member of my community. I love that PWA is helping create that avenue for youth in high-school in Portland and give real exposure to students; seeing the impact that PWA has had from the experiences I have partnered with the team on through my role at Nike has left me nothing short of impressed! I am extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity to be part of this group and make a difference.
Nina was elected to the PWA Board of Directors in June 2024.
