The Oregonian Career Day

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the largest media company in Oregon and meet journalism professionals. Explore how the pros use tools such as video, photography and social media to tell stories. Participate in hands-on learning, including a mock press conference. Learn about the skills and education needed for a career in journalism, communications, and media.
How to attend:
Step 1: Fill out the student interest form ASAP. (Type your email address and cell number carefully so we can reach you!)
Step 2: Have your parent/guardian fill out the parent/guardian permission form ASAP. (Your application can’t be considered until this is done.) Students who do this early have much better luck at being accepted.
Step 3: PWA will contact you to let you know if you’re accepted or waitlisted, or if the career day is full.
Step 4: Show up and have an amazing time!
Who can attend:
High school students in the Portland metro area are encouraged and welcome to apply. We prioritize students from our partner school districts when space is limited (Gresham-Barlow, North Clackamas, Parkrose Portland Public Schools, Reynolds, Oregon Charter Academy).
