Job interviews can be fun, if you’re feeling prepared and confident (and scary, if you’re not).

That’s why we’re recruiting HR professionals – and other caring adults with interviewing experience – to help Portland high school students get ready for their first job interviews.

What: Mock interviews, resume workshops and interviewing workshops
When: Wednesday morning, Oct 19, 2016
Where: Participating high school campuses in Portland Public Schools

SIGN UP FOR OCT. 19 HERE

As a volunteer, you can do mock interviews with students and provide them a safe, friendly opportunity to receive positive feedback and helpful tips. You can also conduct workshops on resume writing or interviewing essentials. (Want to volunteer but can’t make the 19th? Use our form to let us know we can contact you for future opportunities.)

About the organizers: The nonprofit Portland Workforce Alliance and Portland HR Management Association team up regularly to help provide career-readiness experiences for high school students. For the Oct. 19 event, we are assisting PPS career coordinators with volunteer recruitment for career panels and interview preparation.

Our biggest partnership takes place at the annual NW Youth Careers Expo: In 2016, volunteers provided 1,750 students from Oregon and SW Washington with mock job interviews!
