May 13 | 10:00 am - 10:45 am
Join our series on careers in the trades! Bring your questions about how to become an electrician, welder, craft laborer and many other careers.
Today's session: Learn about becoming a professional welder from the experts at Greenbrier Gunderson, a global builder of barges and railcars with a big presence here in Portland. Hear how Paul New at OEG started as an electrician and is now a field supervisor; he was trained through NECA-IBEW.
They will be joined by Ivan Castille and Jani Taylor, apprenticeship coordinators with the Oregon and S. Idaho Laborers-Employers Training Trust, who will share about the many career options for craft laborers.
