PWA Expo Breakfast 2020 [Canceled]
March 10 | 7:30 am - 9:00 am
Given the rapid escalation of the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak and the emerging recommendations on social distancing within schools, the Portland Workforce Alliance has made the difficult decision to cancel the 16th annual NW Youth Careers Expo and its sister event, the PWA Expo Breakfast.
On the morning of the NW Youth Careers Expo, we celebrate the work of PWA’s community partners and discuss what’s in store for the future around school-workplace connections. Meet students who were inspired by our career-related learning experiences. Connect with business and civic leaders and educators who are interested in raising our high school graduation rates, building a skilled workforce and connecting young people to great careers.
The annual PWA Breakfast attracts about 450 attendees, including community leaders from public and private sectors.
In 2020, we are delighted to have founder and chief creative officer of Red & Co., Mira Kaddoura, and president of Colas Construction, Andrew Colas, among our featured speakers. Mercedes Muñoz, a Franklin High School special education teacher and this year's Oregon Teacher of the Year, will also be joining the breakfast as a special guest panelist.
