KGW Career Day

Dream of working in broadcast journalism? Spend the morning at KGW studios! Go behind-the-scenes at the KGW studios and explore the news set and control room. Hear from industry professionals and producers about what it’s like to cover the local news and work in a studio environment. Learn about getting started and developing skills to help you thrive.
How to attend:
Step 1: Fill out the student interest form ASAP. (Type your email address and cell number carefully so we can reach you!)
Step 2: Have your parent/guardian fill out the parent/guardian permission form ASAP. (Your application can’t be considered until this is done.) Students who do this early have much better luck at being accepted.
Step 3: PWA will contact you to let you know if you're accepted or waitlisted, or if the career day is full.
Step 4: Show up and have an amazing time!
Who can attend:
High school students in the Portland metro area are encouraged and welcome to apply. Priority is given to students from PWA partner districts (Parkrose, Reynolds, Gresham-Barlow, North Clackamas, Oregon Charter Academy, Portland Public Schools). Students from other districts are always welcome and accepted whenever space is available.
