Are you a high school junior who enjoys working with your hands? Do you want to earn a few thousand bucks this summer learning about jobs in the construction industry?

Our PWA partners, the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters and the Pacific Northwest Carpenters Institute, are looking to recruit a few members of the Class of 2020 (current high school juniors) to learn valuable job and career skills during an eight-week program in Portland.

The Construction Camp runs from June 24 through August 16. Successful applicants will earn $12 an hour while receiving hands-on training in safety, tools and safe-site preparation. Students will work at job sites under the direction of some of the region’s leading contractors.

Criteria

Interested students must:

  • have a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • have had 2 years of math (algebra and geometry)
  • be physically fit
