Dear PWA friends,

This year’s PWA Breakfast is shaping up as one of our best yet! Tables and tickets are now available for the student-centered celebration on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, on the morning of the NW Youth Careers Expo.

Police Chief Danielle Outlaw

The annual breakfast attracts about 400 business leaders and educators to the Oregon Convention Center, as well as some inspiring high school students. Reserve a table or ticket now, because last year we sold out. We’re delighted to have Portland Police Chief Danielle Outlaw and Portland Public Schools Superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero among our featured speakers.

Many of our Expo Sponsors and Career Day partners host a table for their company and invite colleagues and industry peers. You may also secure an individual ticket. Donations are welcome and help us make this event accessible for students and new volunteers.

Our early Breakfast Sponsors include Tonkon Torp, Providence Health Plan and Barran Liebman. Click here to learn more and register, and please contact Sherri Nee (sherri@portlandworkforcealliance.org) with questions.

Superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero

Careers Expo:  We’re expecting about 7,000 students from 70 high schools at the 14th annual Careers Expo. These students will get an up-close look at great careers in every major field – software development, nursing, welding, animation, you name it. (Is your company on board? There’s still time to register as an exhibitor or sponsor.) More than 1,000 students will do mock job interviews with our caring business volunteers.

You’ll be hearing more soon about the featured speakers at the PWA Breakfast. Until then, thank you for supporting Portland high schools and our future workforce.
