PACE is a free after-school mentorship program that gives students the opportunity to work with plumbers, sheet metal workers, carpenters and electricians to learn the introductory skills needed for good paying careers in the trades.

Students explore career fields within the industry, collaborate with mentors and students from other schools, and gain experience and learn new skills. This year, students grades 9-12 learned how to use power tools, frame walls, cut drywall, wire switches, cut metal air vents, and more.

Thank you to Portland Public Schools and our friends at the Pacific NW Carpenters Institute, Associated General Contractors, NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center, P&C Construction, UA Local 290 Plumbers & Steamfitters, and the Sheet Metal Institute for bringing this program
