The countdown begins! Only five weeks remain until our two largest events of the year: the NW Youth Careers Expo and the PWA Breakfast, both on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016.

PWA Breakfast:  Oregon Gov. Kate Brown is one of several prominent speakers at our annual breakfast, a student-centered celebration that attracts about 400 business leaders and educators. Grab your ticket now, because last year we sold out. (Seats are free, though we welcome you treat a student or donate to PWA.)

Careers Expo:  We’re also expecting 6,500 students from more than 55 high schools in Oregon and Southwest Washington at the 12th annual Careers Expo. These students will get an up-close look at great careers in every major field – software development, nursing, welding, animation, you name it. Many students will also try out mock job interviews with our experienced volunteers.

Our year-round work: Support from Expo sponsors allows PWA to operate year-round.  We’re co-hosting two career days with Nike this winter, and we’ll help another dozen employers host career days this spring.  We’re also talking with educators and some of our newer partners in Portland’s vibrant technology sector about ways to add in-depth opportunities for students.
